Vegas without the hangover

Non-alcoholic cocktails at The Vault in the Bellagio - photo by Rob McFarland

“Wow,” said a colleague, after taking a sip of my drink. “You’d never know that didn’t contain alcohol.”

We were sitting in F1 Arcade Las Vegas, the flagship outpost of the high-energy Formula 1 franchise, which opened last year inside The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. The slick venue has 87 hi-tech racing simulators, three bars and a drinks menu designed by LP O’Brien, the “sober bartender” who won Netflix’s Drink Masters series in 2022. Her Mule in the Paddock mocktail uses Almave, a zero-proof blue agave spirit launched by Lewis Hamilton, and it’s the best non-alcoholic cocktail I’ve tasted yet.
